We all need a little self care! There is such a variety of ways to incorporate something into your busy day. Today I will share some ideas and have fun!
- 1. Journal: Writing out your thoughts can be relaxing. It’s a good way to empty your brain of excess info and feel refreshed.
- 2. DIY Facial: I try to include this at least once a week. I use my steamer, a good scrub, facial serum and moisturizer.
- 3. Buy yourself something. An iced coffee, or a new shirt. Sometimes just a little retail therapy is the best pick me up!
- 4. Read a book. Simple one, take the time to yourself to relax and unwind with a good book or podcast! I do this one most nights.
- 5. Create a vision board. Manifest your dreams or goals through art and allow yourself to view it and remind you what you’re working for.
- 6. Epsom salt bath. It’s not often I can escape to the tub by myself but I do enjoy a soak! I make a batch of epsom salt (recipe here) and instantly feel relaxed!
- 7. Buy yourself flowers. Along the lines of buying yourself something, I find a new plant or even a fresh bouquet of flowers for the counter is a good boost!
- 8. Go for a walk. Whether it is by yourself or kids in tow, it’s always nice to get out for some fresh air and get your legs moving.
- 9. Daily affirmations. Remind yourself what you’re capable of. Sometimes I need the positivity and a good reminder,
- 10. Diffuse oils. Diffusing (or candles) something fresh and happy can uplift your mood and maybe even motivate you!
- 11. Yoga. Another simple one. Any form of workout is good self-care and you can even include the kids in needed.
- 12. Solo drive. This might be one of my favourites. Besides reading before bed it can be hard to fit something in. Sometimes I just opt-in on being the one who picks up the kids or picks up dinner. Just getting in the car (even if temporarily alone) with the music cranked feels good.
- 13. DIY mani/pedi. Pick out some fun spring colours, soak your feet and do a sugar scrub before giving them fresh paint!
- 14. Wake up first. What? less sleep? I find if I get even 20 minutes to myself before the rest of the house is awake it sets my day off right.
- 15. Date night. Spouse or friend date, if getting out and being social is what is best for you then plan that date!
- 16. Garden. Gardening, playing with plants, pulling those weeds and just connecting with nature is good for the soul!
