Fall is nearing and the apples are ready for picking! This recipe was perfect to make for the first week of school (and school lunches) but we also had it for desert!
I left out the extra cup of sugar it called for and it was perfect in my opinion!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 apple peeled and diced
How to make:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Combine sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt
- Beat eggs, milk, and vegetable oil
- Gradually add in dry ingredients
- Add apple and cinnamon
- Grease pan and pour mixture into it
- Top it with cinnamon and brown sugar
- Bake for 45 mins or until toothpick comes out clean
This recipe would also make yummy muffins! Other alternatives to this recipe:
- Add nuts
- Add a glaze
- Replace half the oil with unsweetened applesauce
