Hello! Here I am due with baby #3 in a few months and I’ve been making a list of the things I need for this baby. Lucky for me, I kept some of my “new mom” essentials from my last baby, but I thought why not make a list of things I found important with a new baby and maybe help someone else make a list!
Infant Seat
So right from the start, lets talk about car seats! I see lots of new moms question whether or not they want to buy an infant seat or a convertible seat. Sure, it almost makes sense to save the money and buy the one seat.. I even considered it with baby #2 but ultimately we decided we would buy the infant seat first. I am SO glad we did because we are always out and about whether its for sports or shopping, I couldn’t imagine constantly moving baby.
We got the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Seat and was super happy with it. It felt light weight compared to some and easy to install.
Infant Swing
The next decision we had to make was what kind of swing do we want? How much money do we want to spend? We decided to try the 4moms mamaroo swing and absolutely loved it! Baby liked it, and we loved its small footprint and modern style in our living room. If its in your budget, I would definitely recommend!
Stroller Hooks
These stroller hooks have been an absolute life saver!! One day my husband came home with a “gift” for me and it was these stroller hooks. Seems silly? He was excited and he put them on the stroller, which we use while out everywhere, and to this day they are constantly being used!! Grocery bags, purses, hangers of clothes. Best gift ever! I’m not sure how I survived without them with my first child!
Bath Wash
Everyone has their favourite brand, or favourite bath wash for baby but this Burt’s Bees Baby Shampoo is mine! It was a gift for my first baby 11 years ago and I liked it then. I went right out and bought it for baby #2 and still using it 2 years later! I’ve stocked up on bottles preparing for baby #3 as well!
Haakaa Pump
Now this one is of course based on breast feeding. I breastfed my last two, and was fortunate enough to find out about this little pump secret with my last baby! This Haakaa manual breat pump was amazing while trying to stock up on bags of breast milk for bottles. You just suction it on the opposite feeding side and it catches everything instead of just soaking a breast pad. I also used it while pumping one side.
Change Pad
It never occurred to me that this item was so loved until I read a first time mom asking if she should get one, and I thought “Yes!!”. My diaper bags just had them and I never really thought about it before but YES for me, and my family this item has been great! You never really know when you’ll have to change baby while you’re out and about, or what sort of surfaces will be your options. If your bag doesn’t have one or you’re just using your purse/bag, something like this Foldable travel mat would be great to throw in.
ComoTomo Bottles
However you are feeding baby, if you are using bottles we LOVED these Comotomo bottles!! They are so light, soft, mimic the breast and they are safe in microwave, dishwasher, sterilizer, and boiling water! They have 3 types of nipples for different stages as well. Definitely buying more for baby #3.
Grabease Utensils
Last but not least, another fun milestone with baby – Feeding foods! With baby #2 we decided to go the baby led weaning route, but regardless of which way you feed baby these Grabease Utensils are the absolute best! Someone recommended them in a mom group with my second and I had to try them. Funny enough my 2 year old daughter uses utensils a little better than her older brother. They are SO easy for them to hold on to and cant push them too far back in their mouth like some regular ones.
Well thats it for me! Thanks for reading my personal fav items with my own babys!
