Spring Cleaning Part 1

With the beautiful sunny weather this past weekend I got started on the spring cleaning, starting with taking apart my windows and giving them a MUCH needed clean.

I took out all the screens and washed them in the tub.. Later in the spring or summer I would just spray them outside but it felt too cold still.

Then we took the window panes out and washed each side and edge real good. While the windows were out it was the perfect opportunity to clean the grossest part — the tracks!

The best trick is to sprinkle baking soda along the tracks, especially the corners and hard to reach areas. Pour a little vinegar over and let it bubble for 5-10 minutes and then use paper towel and wipe it up! It works SO good and so simple to do!

Before: filthy tracks filled with dirt and scum.

Tip #1: I like to use a spoon to help sprinkle out the baking soda. If it seems like a pile in one area I just spread out with my finger.

After: fresh and clean like new!

Tip #2: I use a toothpick after the soak along hard to reach cracks that seem to fill with dirt.

And now we have clean windows for awhile! On to the many more tasks and spring cleaning!
