Sunny days are finally here and what better way to spring clean your wardrobe than by adding some current spring style to freshen it up.

I know as the boring grey skies disappear I personally get in a more adventurous mood when it comes to my style. I look forward to lighter layers and warmer days.

You may have noticed some trends carrying on from last spring or summer, or some even older throwbacks with some of the current trends for spring including boho, a playful take on cowboy-inspired looks, some preppy fashion, a little 90’s style throwbacks, athletic prep, and much more.

So take a seat with your notebook while I dive into this seasons trends for you.

While they are nothing new, white dresses are here to stay with the unlimited ways to style it for all occasions. Whether you’re heading for cocktails or a bbq, a little white dress is a practical look for spring. I love how easy they are to style with some simple jewelry, sandals or some light sneakers.

You’ll see these simple yet elegant pieces often paired with other trends this season such as flats or sheer fabrics.

Fashion is taking a trip west with cowboy-style stitching, denim and cowboy boots. We’ve been seeing a lot of celebrity’s embracing the western style, such as Post Malone. We saw Post Malone decked out in a very American Southwest look at Superbowl LVII. As he crosses over genres into Country music we have seen his look take on a more western vibe along with another notable change in Beyonce and the Cowboy Carter album.

Jessica Simpson’s spring 2024 collection is described as taking on western elements. With a little boho-chic vibe we’re seeing fringe, cropped denim jackets, flared jeans and turquois.

Pharrell Williams pays tribute to the American Western wardrobe with Louis Vuitton showcasing cowboy shirts and clothing enriched with details like turquoise beading.

Blue skies ahead for fashion and a varying shade of blue is taking over the colour palette for many. Giving an innocent look to any outfit, mix tones by wearing a powdered blue top with a darker pair of jeans. I’m personally loving the colour, while it’s not typically seen as feminine, you can add many elements to your outfit to create a perfect girly look that’s not pink.

Clueless anyone? Channeling some prep school classics, we are seeing polo shirts, button downs, track jackets and pleated skirts. I’ve also noticed a lot of candy-coloured knits such as fun cardigans, and sweater vests pushed to new, more fashionable heights. Miu Mui S/S 24 runway also showcased an athletic prep aesthetic with rugby shirts, academic blazers, baggy shorts and more.

That’s right, ballet flats are here for S/S 24 and they are evolving. The hottest pairs are Mary Janes, with a strap for extra support and a little added detail. Following the spring trend of blue’s, we are seeing more blue’s and metallics in the dainty shoe comeback.

More styles to note include slimmer, sportier sneakers for the second year in a row, the Adidas Sambas are here to stay!

As the shoes continue to slim down, the bags and accessories appear to be getting larger. Oversized bags, and statement belts appear to be the eye catcher of the season.

Sheer fabrics continue to shine on and off the red carpet with many designers such as Dior and Prada using the fabric to elevate a top or a skirt.

Florals are nothing new, but they were plentiful in all varieties at many shows. We’re seeing them applied with texture and intense shades, adding more wild flowers and botanicals for an eye popping look.
